Aims and Scope

"Law, Policy and Security" is a peer-reviewed periodical that publishes original and review articles on current issues in the fields of law, politics and security to provide a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, challenges, and solutions. By exploring these areas and their overlaps, the journal seeks to contribute to a richer understanding of how legal regulations, political actions, and security measures interact in various contexts.

The purpose of the "Law, Policy and Security" journal is to serve as a multidisciplinary forum dedicated to advancing knowledge and understanding at the confluence of legal norms, political governance, and security challenges. By disseminating pioneering research, facilitating intellectual dialogue, and highlighting best practices, the journal aims to bridge the gaps between theory and practice. It intends to equip policymakers, legal experts, security professionals, and academic researchers with insights and perspectives that can guide sound decision-making, promote rule of law, and ensure a balanced approach to security in an increasingly interconnected world.

The journal’s objectives:

  • Legal Analysis: Exploration of legal norms, regulations, and practices in both national and international contexts. This includes the assessment of new legal frameworks, treaties, and laws as well as their implications on domestic and global security landscapes.

  • Political Studies: Investigation of political decisions, strategies, and their ramifications on security. Analysis of how political processes can both arise from and influence security considerations. This may also encompass studies on the role of international relations and diplomacy in shaping security outcomes.

  • Security Strategies: Examination of both traditional (military, political) and non-traditional (cybersecurity, environmental, health) security threats and strategies. Analysis of how legal and political structures can either aid or hinder the formulation and execution of these strategies.

  • Case Studies: Detailed analyses of specific events, decisions, or strategies that provide insights into the interplay of law, politics, and security. This could include the study of historical events, recent geopolitical situations, or future-oriented strategic planning.

  • Interdisciplinary Approaches: Articles that draw upon multiple disciplines to offer a holistic perspective on pressing issues. This can range from the combined legal and political analysis of a recent treaty to the exploration of how security considerations might drive legal reforms.

  • Regional and Global Perspectives: Articles focusing on specific regional challenges, as well as those that adopt a broader, global view. This provides readers with both depth and breadth in terms of content.
